About Nicola Anstey
Living in a small rustic cottage in the Surrey Hills, Nicola’s love of restoration using traditional upholstery methods has been allowed to evolve. Nicola studied 3D Design in wood, metal, plastic and ceramics, after which she spent many years working on theatre props, models and special effects for films and adverts. More recently she returned to education to learn the skills of traditional upholstery.
She is extremely passionate about bringing old pieces of once loved furniture back to its former glory. Her eye for style and detail adds a contemporary and unique twist to traditional pieces. Nicola’s love of scouring markets in the UK and France for unusual items of furniture with a quest of breathing a new lease of life into them. Once these items arrive back to the workshop, the journey can begin to repair and transform them into bold and stunning timeless pieces to be enjoyed again for many years. This transformation is assisted by the help of a local craftsman David Williams.
