OUR STORY

Surrey Woodcraft is a collaboration between twins David and Stewart McKenzie that brings together their different woodworking skills, producing a whole range of handcrafted wooden homeware, kitchenware, stationary, gift items and musical instruments.

We are born and raised in Surrey and we want that to be evident in all that we do. We have named our company Surrey Woodcraft as we are proud of our roots.

Surrey Woodcraft has its own musical instrument brand called Fiodhan and specialises in designing and building stringed instruments. There are always many off cuts and we use those to make a lot of our products, something that we are proud of doing.

We also use reclaimed timber for our products where possible, helping the environment by re-using timber that would otherwise go to landfill.

We work closely with the local wood yards, we love being able to use locally sourced timber as it means that nothing is being wasted and there is a local link to the wood we use.

We are both lucky to have the facilities at our homes where we can work on our products. This means that we have little transport usage during the week. Although we do make use of technology and power tools we always finish our products by hand, this enables us to control the waste and more importantly feel the product to ensure it is perfect.

We pride ourselves in the quality of our products and as a pair we constantly review each other’s work to ensure that we maintain the standards our customers expect.
