OUR STORY
My knitwear is beautiful, original and wearable and crafted with meticulous attention to design detail and quality of finish: garments fit and fabrics drape beautifully. I love to create simple elegant knitwear which is infinitely wearable and will last for years.
My degree and original career was in graphic design. I am self taught as a knitter and dyer. I began as a hand knitter but when I discovered the amazing creative possibilities in domestic knitting machines I was hooked. I explore stitch, yarn, fibre and colour in experimental knitted and dyed samples to create the fabrics, textures, colours and drape I am looking for. Wherever possible I knit fabric and garment together – with minimal seaming – for a beautiful drape.
Many of my pieces are hand dyed and/or hand painted, so they are distinctive and no two are ever quite alike.
My prices range from £35 for mittens to £190 for some of my garments.
I was born and have lived all of my life in Surrey – with the exception of the three years during which I lived and studied in London (40 years ago – but even then, I have always lived ‘south of the river’!). I’m proud to say that my knitwear is designed and handmade in Surrey and I promote ‘made in Surrey’ as a badge of quality. I have exhibited and sold my knitwear in many locations in the south east of England – the majority of these have been in Surrey – and actually most have been within the Surrey Hills area.
