Nature immersion forest bathing walk
Sunday, 2nd April @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
$35Join us for a leisurely amble through charming private woodland; observe and connect with nature as it awakens to spring, smell the bluebells, stroke the bark, listen to the birds. The session culminates with a ‘treelaxation’, our unique nature meditation under the canopy of trees, then a woodland tea, so we aim to leave you feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated..
Forest bathing is an evidence-based wellbeing activity: we walk slowly, immersing ourselves in the woodland atmosphere, taking our senses for a meander among the trees. Through sensory practices we learn how to enhance our perceptions and slow down, focusing on what could easily be missed.
Spending time in woodland has been shown to, amongst other benefits, boost our immune system for two+ weeks, balance blood pressure, reduce stress/cortisol levels, blood sugars, anxiety and rumination, as well as improve sleep, memory, concentration and creativity.
This small, private, semi-ancient woodland has been a healing sanctuary since 1947, with lovely views over the Surrey Hills. We sometimes see/hear buzzards. With the exception of the crows in spring, it’s usually quiet.
