New Hike – 7.5miles Local’s favourite Gomshall to Shere Circular

A resident’s recommendation 7.5 mile /13km hike circular route, across lesser known paths, open rolling fields with stunning viewpoints and visit to Surrey hills most picturesque village.

Start at Gomshall train station, along vibrant footpaths leading to Shere village, a buzzing little chocolate-box village with cafes, ice cream shop and stream. After a stroll through the centre, we’ll head to Silent Pool and its stunning setting on the foot of the North Downs. A steep climb takes us to Netley Heath and guides us to explore the famous NDW trail. To complete our circular, we head back down to Abinger Hammer and its village green with a small stream running through it is a popular spot to relax and enjoy a picnic in the summer. Finally return to Gomshall and its historic Mill.

Difficulty: Easy/Moderate  with some hills
Duration: 4h incl stop over in Shere village
