Apply To Become A Corporate Member of Surrey Hills Enterprises

Surrey Hills Corporate Members commit to supporting sustainability within the Surrey Hills through delivering a nature conservation project, buying local sustainable products and using Surrey Hills venues and experiences.

Membership is awarded via an application process with the criteria of local, quality and sustainability credentials required to receive the Trade Mark Surrey Hills Award.

Corporate Members are also required to make a pledge of support to the Surrey Hills.

Benefits

  • Logo – Use of the ‘Surrey Hills Corporate Member Trade Mark’ Logo on your promotional materials and website – demonstrating CSR, support for the Surrey Hills and sustainability
  • Website – Promoted on the Surrey Hills website as a Corporate Member linking directly with your website and vice versa
  • Environmental project – a Staff tree or hedge planting, wildflower meadow creation or other nature conservation project including materials and equipment for staff to take part – included within the cost of Membership
  • Press Release – at least one press release to media a year linked to your sustainability work or conservation project with the news item on the Surrey Hills website and Surrey Hills e-newsletters
  • Staff Away Days – access to information & advice for unique and unusual Surrey Hills experiences and meeting spaces in the Surrey Hills for Staff development, away days and meetings

Membership criteria

To become a Corporate Member, your organisation must meet the following membership criteria:

Local

  • location of organisation and/or area of operation is within the Surrey Hills or in the County of Surrey within a 6-mile radius
  • goods (grown, produced or sourced locally) and services which employ local people where possible

Quality

  • Operate to a quality standard and follow ethical and legal employment and trading practice
  • Customer Care – demonstrate care and a quality service for the customer

Support for Surrey Hills – willing to pledge support for the Surrey Hills

Sustainability/care of the environment – run your business sustainably or are working towards sustainability by demonstrating a commitment to reducing any negative environmental impact

Trade Mark Award
Corporate Members who meet additional criteria have the opportunity to be awarded The Trade Mark Surrey Hills, which is issued under license and is a mark of quality and local provenance.

The Trade Mark will be awarded to businesses who:

  • Contribute to the Surrey Hills in a responsible manner and who are demonstrating corporate responsibility to conserve and enhance the Surrey Hills.

The Pledge

All Members awarded ‘The Trade Mark Surrey Hills’ make the following pledge:

  • Support Surrey Hills – Be active supporters and champions of Surrey Hills and local produce and services by:
    • Using ‘The Trade Mark Surrey Hills’ logo on their marketing materials and literature, for customers and suppliers (delete) and on websites, products, vehicles and premises where commercially viable.
    • Attending workshops and supporting events
  • Environmental – provide a clear demonstration that environmental practices are in place and a pledge to develop and improve sustainability and reduce environmental impact

How To Apply

Step 1

Please complete the application form below to apply for Surrey Hills Enterprises Corporate Membership and the Trade Mark Award.

Step 2

Once you have submitted the form below, we will contact you within 5 working days to discuss your application. Please contact us if you have not heard within 5 working days to ensure your application has been safely received.

Your application will be assessed in relation to the Membership and Trade Mark Surrey Hills criteria and considered by a Working Group of Directors and Advisers. We will confirm the outcome of your application and if successful, will forward the Membership Agreement for your signature and payment details as a contribution to the programme.

Step 3

If your Corporate Membership is approved, we will forward a copy of the registered Trade Mark for you to use on your premises, website, products and promotional materials. We will also add your business to our online Members Directory on the Surrey Hills Website and you will have access to the full range of membership benefits as detailed here.
