The Surrey Hills works to conserve and support people, place, nature and mitigate climate change as a National Landscape. The Surrey Hills Board established a Surrey Hills group of organisations (the Surrey Hills Family) to help support the delivery of the Management Plan.
The strategic targets are themed in the following areas;
National Landscapes do not own or manage any land, so all of our work is done in collaboration with fantastic partners. Find out about some of the brilliant projects we have been working on in partnership to help support people and nature here.
The Surrey Hills Board consists of Core (funding) and Advisory (non-funding) members consisting of representatives from local authorities, public bodies and agencies, landowners, land managers and farmers, and other special interest groups.
Surrey Hills Enterprises is a Membership organisation working to support local enterprises and develop a thriving rural economy. We also aim to promote sustainable tourism, increase environmental sustainability, motivate the community to “Buy Local” and highlight the special nature of the people and landscape of the Surrey Hills.
The Surrey Hills Society is an independent charity promoting the positive enjoyment and care of the Surrey Hills National Landscape for those who live, work in, or visit the area. The Society encourages people to explore and learn about the special qualities and distinctiveness of the area.
Surrey Hills Arts is a partnership between Surrey Arts, Surrey County Council and the Surrey Hills AONB. It aims to engage and inspire people in the outstanding natural landscape through an imaginative programme across the arts, promoting heritage, health and tourism.
The Surrey Hills Trust Fund has been established to safeguard the future of the Surrey Hills National Landscape. The fund helps to conserve and maintain the fragile environment of the Surrey Hills through a programme of projects and activities.
