Gate Street

Gate Street is a family-run farm & events venue, set in the heart of the Surrey Hills.

OUR STORY

Our regenerative farm is home to a herd of English Longhorn cattle, Lleyn Sheep, and Mangalitsa Pigs. We are passionate about rebuilding and restoring soil health and our aim is to produce high quality, nutrient-dense food from livestock reared within a sustainable agricultural system.

Gate Street Barn can be found nestled within our working farm and is a renowned destination for all seasons and all events, with over 20 years experience.

Positioned just south of Guildford, our rural setting makes for an enchanting venue to host your special day.

THE VENUE

As an all-weather venue, Gate Street is a wonderful option to host your wedding throughout the year, especially if the rain comes in. The Orangery and Pheasantry are connected to The Barn enabling you to effortlessly move between spaces as the day unfolds.

Our colourful, evergreen gardens make an ideal setting for a stunning spring / summer reception and their atmospheric lighting and wood burning stoves enhance the cosy and warm ambiance for an autumn / winter event.

The venue has capacity for up to 150 seated guests and can accommodate 200 for an evening reception or less formal occasion.

THE FARM

We are a family-run farm home to English Longhorn Cattle, Lleyn Sheep, Mangalitsa Pigs and honeybees.

We are working to restore balance and transition fully to a sustainable agricultural system by employing regenerative farming techniques such as mob grazing to restore the health of our soil.

As a business and as stewards of the land we aim to:
● Continue to improve soil health and carbon sequestration using regenerative farming methods such as mob grazing.
● Produce 100% grass finished livestock, which are not only great tasting, but rich in nutrients and Omega 3.
● Increase site biodiversity by introducing wildlife corridors, connecting habitats and creating safe environments where wildlife can flourish.
● Reduce waste by promoting a circular economy; using (and reusing) 100% recyclable and eco-friendly materials.
● Work towards carbon neutrality, reduce our own carbon footprint and help others via our work with Carbon Footprint UK.
