OUR STORY
Our priority is making available the highest, quality freshest beer to our loyal, local consumers and customers within a 30-mile radius of the brewery. Working alongside like-minded companies and individuals to support Surrey Hills is key.
For over 30 years, Hogs Back Brewery has been brewing beer from the same site in Tongham and plays an part in the local community, raising money for charity, hosting free events and supporting local causes. It hopes to do so for many years to come.
We have been brewing our award-winning ales in the village of Tongham since 1992, including our flagship brand, Tongham TEA [Traditional English Ale] – the Champion Best Beer of Britain 2000 – and A over T [Aromas over Tongham] – Champion Winter Beer 2006.
In 2014, we revived hop growing here after a 100-year break, reviving the direct link between the brewer and his hops. The Brewery and Hop Garden are open for guided tours. We operate a successful Brewery Shop and online business, alongside a Brewery Tap and live events programme, including the Hop Harvest Party weekend, which attracted over 3,000 visitors in September 2023.
In addition to being an award-winning brewer, we offer a retail shop, bar, guided tours and live events.
