Who we are
We are two sisters aged 12 and 8 who are crazy about lip balm! Our collection was filled with fun shapes and flavours. During our family holiday, we met the Sustainability Manager of our resort, who told us about the dangers of plastic packaging and synthetic ingredients in lip balm. It shocked us!
We love living in the Surrey Hills and know how important it is to protect nature. We couldn’t just sit back, so we took action. We created Nature’s Shield, our own lip balm that’s 100% plastic-free and made with natural ingredients. It comes in recyclable tins and protects nature from harmful waste while shielding humans from dangerous ingredients.
Why are other lip balms a problem?
Most lip balms not only come in plastic, but are made using forms of plastic.
They contain synthetic waxes and petroleum-derived ingredients like paraffin. That means that while wearing lip balm, every time we lick our lips or take a sip of water, we are swallowing plastic.Lip balm tubes are not curbside recyclable because they are small enough to clog up the machinery.
Our goal is to inspire others to make eco-friendly choices and create a safer world. Even as young entrepreneurs, we believe our voices matter. With Nature’s Shield, we’re proving that small actions can make a big impact. Let’s protect the planet together!
