Hedge Planting Buckland Estate

Scroll Down

Buckland Estate put in an application for 431m of hedging to be completed on the Estate. The Surrey Hills Society are also working with the estate to provide the group of volunteers who will plant the hedging.

This hedgerow increases the amount of carbon sequestered and stored from the atmosphere. It also connects existing hedge rows together and improves the soil quality by preventing the amount of run off that was occurring, washing away valuable nutrients.

Dominic and the estate are also happy to have signs put up along the footpath that runs adjacent to the hedge explaining how they got funding for this hedge row and the benefits it will have to wildlife and biodiversity.
