The Surrey Hills Society is an independent charity promoting the positive enjoyment and care of the Surrey Hills National Landscape for those who live, work in, or visit the area. The Society encourages people to explore and learn about the special qualities and distinctiveness of the area.
Whether you are interested in conservation volunteering, assisting with shows or leading walks joining the Surrey Hills Society has opportunities for all. We welcome you to be part of our wide community and help make space for nature.
The Surrey Hills is home to a wide variety of habitats and species. Our conservation volunteering opportunities focus on enhancing habitats for nature and help to provide informative data on species presence or absence in the area. From hedgehogs to hedgerow, there is so much to get involved with to help support our species and their habitats.
Enjoyment of the Surrey Hills is at the heart of the Society, whether that is walking through the landscape or promoting it at our local shows and fetes. We welcome enthusiastic volunteers to help run our gazebo at these events, engaging the public about the Surrey Hills with fun activities, leaflets and offering Society membership to those who are interested. We are also looking for volunteers to help lead walks.
Get involved with writing for the Society’s newsletter and other publications to help spread the word about the fantastic work and events that we support with.
