Pond Restoration Hampton Estate
This projects aim was to restore an old dairy pond that was overgrown, silted up and inaccessible. The three main goals for this project were habitat enhancement, access creation and educational resource production.
The pond was re-sculpted and the approach to the pond was created, making it wheelchair accessible from the driveway, this was to enable access to the view of the pond and habitats in its immediate vicinity. A wheelchair accessible dipping platform was also built to allow access for small groups of visitors including children to reach the pond safely but closely.
An age-specific educational resource pack in hard and soft copies was created for children to use during visits to the pond.
Hampton Estate has already welcomed visitors to the pond, receiving great positive feedback about the wonderful work that has been completed.
