Flail Cut and Collect Mower Countryside Regeneration Trust
The Countryside Regeneration Trust (CRT) applied for £6,328.32 to purchase a Rytec mini cut-and-collect mower for the management of wildflower areas, woodland glades, and rides. Owning this equipment has allowed the CRT to reduce reliance on contractors, particularly for managing small, disconnected sites that are unsuitable for hay cutting or grazing.
The mower will be instrumental in enhancing wildflower abundance and diversity in the orchard at Green Farm, contributing to the Buglife B-Lines project from spring 2025 onwards.
The CRT are keen to share the equipment with local and neighbouring land managers through a sharing agreement, which will support the management of other similar or hard to reach sites in the Surrey Hills.
