Cycling Facilities Hampton Estate

Waggoners’ Campsite, part of the Hampton estate, is an off-grid campsite close to Puttenham Common that sits on the North Downs Way national trail, the National Cycle Network 22 and popular bikepacking route, King Alfred’s Way.

Situated within a rideable distance to Guildford, Godalming and Farnham stations, the campsite previously had no secure or repair facilities to encourage cycling visitors.

Through an Access for All grant, Waggoners has now installed a “bike hut” which gives a sheltered secure location for cycles and also includes a repair stand for minor fixes.

By providing this facility, Waggoners is encouraging and enabling visitors to the location to either make their whole visit through sustainable travel, or to leave their car behind at the site and explore Surrey by bike.
