YHA Youth Hostel Holmbury St Mary
This rural YHA hostel in Holmbury St Mary has been offering affordable accommodation in the Surrey Hills for generations.
Under new management by a Surrey Hills business owner and farmer, following the YHA’s selling of assets, the hostel is working towards making it an accessible centre for people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities to explore the national landscape from, while also providing a community asset for locals.
The Access Fund has contributed to an extensive programme of works including a resurfacing of the public carpark outside its boundary, disabled parking at the hostel, an accessible path network within the hostel, improved lighting and access control to the hostel and an accessible shower and toilet block, which the public will also have access to.
This location has also hosted a selection of our Generation Green programme visits, enabling young people with barrier to nature to increase their confidence.
