Natural Dye Workshop & Dreamcatcher Weaving
13 March 2026 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Join this Natural Dyeing & Dreamcatcher Weaving Workshop where colour, craft, and calm come together.
Step into the Natural Dyeing & Dreamcatcher Weaving Workshop, a collaboration with natural yarn dyer Monika Simion @purlbypearl, where colour, craft, and calm come together.
MAKE NATURAL DYES. Begin by exploring the quiet magic of natural dyes, creating your own from plants like onions, marigolds, or madder, and choosing two more from a palette of ready-prepared dyes to colour three different mini skeins of yarn to take home.
CREATE DREAMCATCHERS. Using already naturally dyed yarn and wool fibre, shape willow frames and weave your own dreamcatchers with Lisa’s guidance, finishing them with feathers and crystal beads, while your dyed skeins from the workshop can later be added or used to create new pieces at home. Dreamcatchers originate from the tradition of Ojibwe, a native American tribe, where their woven webs were believed to catch bad dreams and let good dreams flow gently through the feathers to the sleeper below, a symbol of protection, intention, and harmony.
CALM, CONNECTION, CREATIVITY. In three hours of gentle focus and creative flow, you will leave with a handmade treasure to catch your dreams, a lingering sense of calm, and a deeper connection to your creativity and the natural world.
