Join this Flower Bundle Dyeing and Furoshiki Making Workshop, an immersive experience designed to nurture creativity and mindfulness.
Step into a serene space where nature’s beauty meets Japanese tradition. Join us for a Flower Bundle Dyeing and Furoshiki Making Workshop, an immersive experience designed to nurture creativity, connection, and mindfulness.
Guided by Charlotte, we will commence with an introduction to mordants and fibres. Next, embrace a meditative ritual of selecting vibrant petals, fragrant leaves, and earthy pigments, tuning in to the subtle hues each element offers. Guided through the art of bundle dyeing, you’ll carefully arrange your petals onto cloth before wrapping and binding them into compact bundles, each piece entirely unique, creating unpredictable and intricate patterns.
Once revealed and unfurled, your naturally dyed fabric will become a furoshiki.
THE JAPANESE ART OF FUROSHIKI. After the bundle dyeing, we will pause to explore the art of furoshiki wrapping with Lisa. Learn versatile, eco-friendly techniques for presenting gifts of all shapes, from rectangular boxes to bottles, turning every gift into a sustainable and meaningful gesture. This timeless Japanese practice not only delights the recipient but also helps reduce paper waste, offering an elegant, reusable alternative for mindful gifting.
SLOW DOWN & CONNECT. This workshop is more than a craft. It is a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and bring beauty into everyday life. Whether you are drawn to the meditative rhythm of bundling, the artistry of wrapping, or simply the joy of creating with your hands, this experience invites reflection, playfulness, and appreciation for the natural world.
