16km Tilling Springs, Redlands Woods and Coffee in the Copse
16 May 2026 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
A varied 16km circular walk through the heart of the Surrey Hills, weaving through mystical woodlands with stunning views and a unique outdoor coffee stop.
This hike will start in lush green woodlands of Wotton Common and leads into the pretty area of Tillings Springs, the source of the Tillingbourne River.
From here, we descend along quieter paths through The Duke’s Warren – this is a particularly stunning part of the walk, with expansive views of the beautiful woodland of the Surrey Hills all around – before crossing Coldharbour Common and into the cinematic Redlands Wood, part of the Surrey Hills’ “Little Switzerland,” where towering Corsican pine and Douglas fir create a dramatic, atmospheric landscape.
A stretch of open fields leads us to a well-earned pause at Coffee in the Copse, an outdoor café set in a cosy woodland with outdoor fire pits, fur covered log seats and great coffee, near Westcott. The final leg takes us through open countryside, past the recently re-opened Tillingbourne Waterfall on the Wotton Estate, and finishes with a rewarding climb back to the car park.
Refreshments: Coffee in the Copse (no or limited toilet facilities along the route).
