If you live near Godalming, Guildford or the surrounding villages and feel like you could do with a little less stress and a lot more space to breathe, I’ve got something to help.
This autumn, I’m bringing Qigong to one of the most beautiful places in the Surrey Hills – The National Trust’s Winkworth Arboretum – for four very special Sunday morning sessions: 27 September, 11 & 25 October and 8 November.
We’ll have exclusive early access to the arboretum – before it opens to the public – just us, the trees and the early autumn morning.
For one peaceful hour we’ll move, breathe and slow everything down, surrounded by some of the most spectacular autumn colours and views in Surrey.
Qigong combines slow, flowing movement with breath and mindful awareness. It’s a wonderful way to release stress and tension, move more freely, calm a busy mind and leave feeling grounded, refreshed and somehow more alive.
Never tried Qigong? This is beautiful place to start.
Sometimes described as a moving meditation – and the grandmother of Tai Chi – Qigong offers many of the benefits people associate with Tai Chi, but with simple flowing movements and far less choreography to remember.
You don’t need to be fit or flexible. You don’t need any previous experience. And if you like the idea of meditation but find sitting still difficult, moving meditation can be a wonderful alternative.
Come as you are. Leave feeling better.
Let nature be our guide
Autumn at Winkworth is a jewel box of colour – a glorious riot of gold, copper, amber, russet and ruby reflected across the water and spilling through the trees.
But autumn isn’t only beautiful. It has something to teach us.
This is the season of harvest and release. Before the trees let go of their leaves, they draw back in what is precious and worth keeping. We’ll take our cue from the season around us – appreciating what has grown, gathering in the lessons and good things we want to keep, and gently releasing what we no longer need to carry.
Join us for a little autumn wisdom from the trees.
