Our Story

We have always shared a passion for top class sparkling wine. Sibylla is a lover of champagne and believes entirely that the best of English sparkling wines can surpass those of France and Bruce is the vineyard and wine expert having obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Viticulture & Oenology from Plumpton College.

We were inspired to produce elegant aged-vintage sparkling wines and so planted our boutique vineyard in 2004 on the rolling chalky Surrey Hills at High Clandon. This has the same geological character as that of the famed Champagne region but with the unique and beautiful Surrey Hills terroir. Planting the classical champagne varietals, our celebrated Cuvées are made in the traditional bottle-fermented method.

We have won multiple Gold Medals for our vintage Cuvées – the most coveted of all is the hat-trick of three Gold Medals form the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships – and one of only three English vineyards to have achieved this. We are also twice winners of Cellar Door of the Year accolade for the quality of the visit experience.

Each year, one vintage Cuvée is released and is celebrated alongside our Art & Sculpture in the Vineyard event in May – June with about 150 works by artists of Surrey and beyond in their vineyard, wildflower meadows, gardens and atmospheric Glass Barn. A percentage of art and wine sales benefit a charity for children with disabilities, Cherry Trees.

A delectable Liqueur, The Essence of High Clandon, and a newly-released Gin, The Cupid Blue Gin, are both made with their Eau de vie de Vin.
