West Horsley Place
West Horsley Place is a Grade I listed medieval manor house and estate of great beauty and historic significance.

Website: https://www.westhorsleyplace.org
The manor house dates from 1425, though there have been buildings on the site since Saxon times. The house is currently on Historic England’s At Risk register and along with the outbuildings is in a poor state of repair.
The West Horsley Place Trust aims to bring the manor house, outbuildings and estate back into good repair and to improve peoples’ wellbeing through arts, culture, heritage and nature.
West Horsley Place is a stunning setting for weddings, celebrations, private and corporate events, with both the Manor House and walled gardens and our newly restored Place Farm Barn available for exclusive hire. Our philosophy is that every event hosted here should be something very special: personal and exquisite.
West Horsley Place’s romantic and fragile beauty, almost untouched by the last century, makes it a unique location for your celebration. Our guests will have exclusive use of the house and/or garden on the day. Within 30 miles of London, the estate offers a range of stunning settings.
Our Story
West Horsley Place Trust was founded in 2015 by Bamber and Christina Gascoigne, who unexpectedly inherited the house and estate from Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe.
West Horsley Place will be an experiment in how a historic house, garden and estate can meet the needs and aspirations of the 21st century with culture, community, history, wellbeing and nature at its heart, in collaboration with partners and our local community.
Thanks to the generosity and vision of Bamber and Christina Gascoigne’s original gift, West Horsley Place will be open to all. The West Horsley Place Trust is a heritage charity that wants to make a difference to others while creating a sustainable future for this warm, beautiful and neglected treasure.
