I make everything from small garden ornaments and top of the range Japanese kitchen knives to huge custom gateways and arches.
I’ve won a few awards such as the Surrey Hills Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Surrey 40 Under 40 Business Award.
Ever since I was young, I’ve been heavily involved in bushcraft and camping, inherited from my parents who are naturally very outdoorsy people and have been their whole lives. From this I had a natural draw to traditional crafts such as blacksmithing and knife making, so one day a friend and I went up to my local woods and found a bit of rusty metal which we brought home and made two “knives” from. These were really just rusty bits of old fencing that roughly resembled a pointy shape! But at the time I was over the moon with it.
Ever since that day, I have been developing my tool and skill arsenal further and further, so that now I can say that I am following my dreams as a full time blacksmith/fabricator.
The Surrey Hills is one of the best places to live and work, and being an area of outstanding natural beauty is the cherry on top!
I attend the Surrey Hills Wood Fair every year and have done since I was 13. Being one of very few traditional blacksmiths in Surrey is helping keep the tradition alive, as once there was around 50-70 blacksmiths here.
