Adventure Weekend: The Brecon Beacons National Park and Waterfalls
15 May 2026 – 17 May 2026 @ All Day
Back on Track goes to Wales for a stunning hiking weekend in the Brecon Beacons and famous Waterfalls!

A weekend away in the Brecon Beacons National Park, where we will spend a day walking an iconic classic walking route through spectacular scenery climbing the highest mountains in Southern Britain – including the famous peak of Pen Y Fan. The second day will be spent on a magical route visiting the famous Brecon Waterfalls.
Summary of Brecon Beacons Weekend Itinerary:
Friday 15th May –  A travel day, with a chance to meet and settle into our accommodation in/near Brecon for the weekend. There will dinner** available plus a briefing and preparation for the following days’ walks.
Saturday 16th May – A short drive to the Northern Pen Y Fan car park before stepping out on an amazing Mountain Ridge Walk. We will climb Corn Du before traversing onto Pen Y Fan, then a relatively steep drop and then climb on the sister peak of Cribyn before an easier climb up onto the final peak of the day Fan Y Big. It is then a gentle descent back down a ridge to the awaiting cars. The walk is approximately 22km/14 miles and takes 6-7 hours and involves a 1000m of ascent over the 4 peaks.
Sunday 17th May – An approximate 30 minute drive to start the day of what will include quite a lot of steps to see the stunning waterfalls. We will be completing the famous Brecon Beacon Four Falls walk visiting a number of the waterfalls set in this magical scenery. We will walk for approximately 3-4 hours / 9km/6 miles with 250m elevation (up and down) much of it along amazing river Mellte valley after which we will regroup at a local cafe for refreshments before heading home soon after lunchtime.
Difficulty – Challenging.
Day 1 is strenuous but is not technically difficult and will be following some well maintained and popular paths. Though there is a significant ascent and descent on day. Whilst you will need to be fit enough to spend a full day in the hills maintaining a reasonable walking pace, there will be plenty of stops and it should be within ability of someone who maintains a regular level of activity.
Day 2 will be a moderate to strenuous day due to the number of steps up and down to see the individual waterfalls. Please contact Simone or Martin if you would like to discuss this further.
