Autumn Equinox Retreat: Forest Bathing, Qigong, Shakyo Meditation
21 September 2025 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Join Lisa and Ciaran for a soul-nourishing weekend in nature to honour the Autumn Equinox, a time of reflection, transition, and restoration.

This two-part experience invites you to pause, realign, and reconnect with yourself and the changing season through movement, stillness, nature connection, and community.
DAY 1 – PRE-RETREAT IMMERSION (OPTIONAL, see separate event to book Day 1 only or book both to enjoy a £10 discount). Ease into the weekend with a slower pace, deeper presence, and creative engagement with the natural world. Activities include a guided hike through beautiful natural landscapes to ground your body and mind, nature mandala making as a meditative creative ritual for presence and intention-setting, and foraging to explore the seasonal gifts of the land and connect with the plants around us.
DAY 2 – AUTUMN EQUINOX GATHERING — The main event is a deeply grounding and rejuvenating day designed to help you release what no longer serves and welcome the energy of the new season. The day begins with a SHAKYO session — the mindful, meditative practice of tracing Buddhist sutras with brush and ink. No experience is necessary; this quiet, reflective practice helps still the mind and focus the heart. Each participant will receive a beautiful piece of Shakyo paper to take home, along with a Japanese brush pen as a gift.
The day continues with SHINRIN YOKU (forest bathing), a gentle, sensory walk into the forest to calm the nervous system and deepen your connection with nature.
Followed by LUNCH, a seasonal, nourishing plant-based lunch shared in community.
Next is QIGONG, flowing breath-led movement to restore balance and align with the rhythms of autumn.
To close, a TEA CEREMONY for reflection, presence, and gratitude.
OPTION TO JOIN FOR EITHER DAY (book both for a £10 discount) — You are welcome to attend the full weekend or just the main gathering on Day 2.
All are welcome, and no prior experience is needed.
Step into the new season with intention, supported by nature, community, and practices that reconnect you with your body, breath, and the living world.
Please email lisa@hinokiforestbathing.co.uk for accommodation (not included in price) recommendations if visiting from afar.
