Bilberry Foraging Walk – In Support of Friends of the Hurtwood
Join us for a guided foraging walk through the stunning landscape of Holmbury Hill. On this immersive journey, you’ll learn to identify and harvest bilberries—the wild cousin of the blueberry. Discover the art of responsible foraging and take home a small harvest to create your own wild treats, from cakes and pies to compotes, teas, and cordials. Along the way, you’ll also sample wild foods made with freshly foraged bilberries!
As an extra treat, we’ll be foraging green Scots Pine cones to make mugolio—a delicious pine cone syrup crafted by fermenting the cones with sugar for 2-3 months. All proceeds from this event will go to support Friends of the Hurtwood, helping to preserve and protect this beautiful landscape.
