Hike & Vineyard: 12.5km Holmbury loop with Tanhurst tour

Starting and finishing at the beautiful Tanhurst Estate with its Vineyard Cafe, we’ll begin with an exclusive 20-minute tour led by owner Colin Grimes. Colin and his family have lived and worked on the estate for over 40 years, transforming it from a farming and woodland estate into the family-run vineyard it is today. He’ll share the story behind Tanhurst Estate, the family’s journey into English wine, and the passion that continues to shape the vineyard today.

After the vineyard tour, Simone will lead us along lush woodland trails to Holmbury Hill and the historic Iron Age fort. Descending from the hill, we’ll follow sections of the Greensand Way to the picturesque village and church of Holmbury St Mary. A series of steady inclines takes us through ancient sunken paths, woodland and pasture before returning to Tanhurst Estate.

We’ll finish the walk with a well-earned break, where you can (at your own cost) sample Tanhurst’s artisan wines or simply enjoy a hot drink and something to eat in the vineyard café.

Duration: 4-4.5h includes 20min Vineyard tour, allow extra time for coffee/refreshments afterwards
