Into the Bare: Sunrise Meditation & Tea Ceremony
1 November 2026 @ 6:15 am – 7:15 am
Greet a November sunrise on Pitch Hill with guided meditation, quiet woodland reflection and a seasonal herbal tea ceremony.
Begin your day in quiet awe with a guided sunrise meditation atop Pitch Hill, where forest and sky meet in stillness. Just a short walk from the garden where George Harrison wrote “Here Comes the Sun,” Pitch Hill offers its own timeless sunrise — the same soft Surrey light that inspired one of music’s most beloved songs.
By November, the letting go is complete. The canopy has thinned to bare branches, the leaves settled into the forest floor, and the woodland stands stripped back to its essential form. There is a quiet honesty in this bareness — nothing left to hide behind, nothing more to release. This session is an invitation to sit with that same openness within ourselves, to find stillness not in fullness, but in what remains when everything unnecessary has fallen away.
THE ASCENT We’ll begin with a short but invigorating 10-minute walk, ascending a 100-metre incline — with one brief but steep stretch in the middle — through bare woodland paths as the sky begins to soften with the low, quiet light of a November morning.
GUIDED MEDITATION At the summit, we’ll settle into a comfortable seated space and enter a guided meditation in darkness, gently awakening the senses as the world around us begins to stir. Just before sunrise, we’ll open our eyes together and witness the sun rise over the bare landscape — a moment of shared silence, light, and presence, held in the stark clarity of the season.
TEA CEREMONY We’ll close our morning with a seasonal herbal tea ceremony, crafted to reflect the quiet, pared-back energy of November. You’ll receive a packet of the same tea to take home, allowing the ritual to continue in your own space and time.
Come as you are — no experience with meditation necessary. Just bring warm layers, something to sit on, and a willingness to greet the day in its simplest, quietest form.
IN CASE OF RAIN If the forecast is rain, the event will be rescheduled. If the forecast is cloudy, you’ll have the option to attend a different date instead.
