We’ll start at the unique trails through the Chilworth Gunpowder Mills, known for its historic features reminding us of a time of Gunpowder and plots, but now embraced by nature’s calmness reclaiming it space.

Adjacent we’ll walk along the Chilworth Vineyard and visit the resident alpacas before taking the Pilgrims trail to one of the best view spots in Surrey, Newlands corner.

Along the elevated rigde of the North Downs Way, we’ll head to the only Church located on the NDW trail; beautiful St. Martha’s on the hill. Pause here to enjoy amazing views of the Surrey Hills and a chance to visit the beautiful little chapel where often volunteers welcome you in with a chance to ring the bell.

From there we stroll through the Chantries, a mixed woodland with some ancient trees and a new wonderful cafe called the ‘Golden Ford Cafe’ just at the bottom of the hill. We pause here for a refreshment before heading on the Pilgrims path to Shalford and back to Chilworth.

Difficulty: Moderate, several climbs, possible muddy paths
