Just Hike: 16km Blackdowns and Temple of the Winds Circular
25 July 2026 @ 9:45 am – 2:45 pm
Join us for a stunning 16km circular hike starting from Fernhurst, exploring a varied landscape of ancient woodlands, lowland heathland and rolling countryside.
We’ll follow sections of the Serpent Trail before heading towards Blackdowns, where we will start our climb towards Temple of the Winds – the highest viewpoint in the South Downs National Park. Here, panoramic views stretch across the Western Weald and, on a clear day, as far as the coast. We will continue along quiet trails through changing scenery back towards Fernhurst, taking time to enjoy the openness of the hills, the peaceful surroundings and the seasonal beauty of this unique landscape.
A scenic and rewarding day out combining beautiful trails, varied terrain and some of the finest viewpoints in Sussex. There will also be an opportunity to stay for a drink at The Red Lion Pub in Fernhurst at the end of the hike.
