Letting Go: Sunrise Meditation & Tea Ceremony
11 October 2026 @ 6:45 am – 7:45 am
Begin the day with a peaceful sunrise meditation on Pitch Hill, embracing October’s changing woodland before sharing a seasonal herbal tea ceremony.
Begin your day in quiet awe with a guided sunrise meditation atop Pitch Hill, where forest and sky meet in stillness. Just a short walk from the garden where George Harrison wrote “Here Comes the Sun,” Pitch Hill offers its own timeless sunrise — the same soft Surrey light that inspired one of music’s most beloved songs.
As October deepens and the trees begin releasing their leaves, this session is an invitation to do the same — to notice what we are ready to let go of, and to meet that release with curiosity rather than resistance. There is a particular clarity in these autumn mornings, the air crisp and honest, the light low and golden, inviting us to loosen our grip on what no longer serves us.
THE ASCENT We’ll begin with a short but invigorating 10-minute walk, ascending a 100-metre incline — with one brief but steep stretch in the middle — through woodland paths scattered with fallen leaves, as the sky begins to soften with early autumn light.
GUIDED MEDITATION At the summit, we’ll settle into a comfortable seated space and enter a guided meditation in darkness, gently awakening the senses as the world around us begins to stir. Just before sunrise, we’ll open our eyes together and witness the sun rise over the landscape — a moment of shared silence, light, and presence, as the forest around us continues its own quiet act of release.
TEA CEREMONY We’ll close our morning with a seasonal herbal tea ceremony, crafted to reflect the season’s turning and the spirit of letting go. You’ll receive a packet of the same tea to take home, allowing the ritual to continue in your own space and time.
Come as you are — no experience with meditation necessary. Just bring warm layers, something to sit on, and a willingness to greet the day with openness and ease.
IN CASE OF RAIN If the forecast is rain, the event will be rescheduled. If the forecast is cloudy, you’ll have the option to attend a different date instead.
