Join us for a completely new route hiking 7 Stunning Summit in Surrey, including Pitch Hill in one day. (This is a very different route to the Surrey Three Peaks, with some minor overlaps.)

Highlights of the day:
We’ll be hiking this challenging 17-mile (27km) linear route at a steady pace and shorter stops to aim complete this hike in 7.5-8h.

We’ll guide you through a wide variety of stunning landscapes starting at Boxhill to overlook the beautiful Mole Valley. Descending to walk through Betchworth Park with reminiscence of a medieval deer park until we continue onwards to ‘The Temple’ on the Hill.

Joining the famous Greensand Way southwards through denser woodlands and rolling fields to Wotton Common and highest points in South-east England Leith Hill and Holmbury. Our final ascent is a remote path hugged by dense woods to Pitch Hill, elevation and absolutely breathtaking views. Finally, we descend ancient woodland towards the quaint but buzzing village of Peaslake, and the finish at the Hurtwood Pub.

Seven Summits are: Box Hill (172m) The Terrace (136m), Tower Hill 142m, Bury Hill (The Temple) (127m), Leith Hill (294m), Holmbury Hill, Pitch Hill (257m) – total 9620m

Difficulty: challenging with several hill climbs and long duration
Bring: snacks, packed lunch, drink, money for pub afterwards (see hiking guide below)
Duration: 7.5-8h approx, plus Pub visit. We are planning to be at the Pub around 6-6.30pm

Parking (start point) Free parking on Old London Road, Dorking RH5 6BY- Important! Please don’t park at Ryka’s car park as it will close around dusk.

Facilities/stop-overs on route:
Please note this hike is through remote landscape for long parts of this hike, you need to bring all food/drinks with you.
Early stop overs : Ryka’s Café & Boxhill Cafe (at Start) and Surrey Hills Yurt with the the Coffee van in the Copse approx at 11km (short lunch).
Later stops a approx 22km: Leith Hill Café (no toilets) and 28km Hurtwood Hotel, Peaslake (End)

Fee : £30pp

Transport Option 1:
Arrange a drop off at Boxhill/and pick up from Hurtwood Car Park 2 (Walking Bottom) near the Hurtwood Hotel (5min walk)
Transport Option 2:
Take the train to Boxhill/Westhumble station or Dorking Station (for Dorking station add a 15min walk to Boxhill). Arrange only the pickup from Hurtwood Car Park 2 (Walking Bottom).
Transport Option 3:
Join our group car share (via a Whatsapp group) to arrange a few cars to be parked at either end. Please message Simone if you want to do so.

Note: We aim for a steady pace for this event so that we can achieve the distance in the estimated time. This is a long and challenging walk with multiple steep climbs. We have allowed for stops; however, facilities will be limited due to the remote nature of this hike. We will support you with 1-2 Hiking guides. If you are not sure if the pace or this challenge is suitable for you, please join one of our other walks or talk to Simone.

Option to book a table in the Pub for our group to celebrate our achievement. (Food/drinks are not included in the event fee.)

Further event details and how to prepare for the walk:
Please ensure you bring water and snack for the walk. Please wear sturdy shoes; bring waterproofs and walking poles if you have. The distance and duration of the walk depends on the group’s pace and weather conditions but we aim for a steady walking pace with several short stops.
