Join Us in the Surrey Hills: A Gentle Invitation to See Differently
Photographer Henry Catling and forest bathing guide Lisa Duncan invite you to slow down, breathe in the beauty of the wild, and rediscover your natural way of seeing.
In this gentle, immersive morning session, we’ll walk slowly along the quiet paths of Leith Hill, taking mindful pauses along the way. Each stop is an invitation to experience nature more deeply, through sound, light, movement, texture, or stillness.
Together, we’ll explore questions like: How might you capture sound in a photograph? First, we’ll close our eyes and listen, what do we hear? Where is the sound coming from? How near or far? Then you’ll be invited to wander off independently, using your eye and your camera, whether a phone or DSLR, to explore how that sense of sound might translate into a visual image.
This rhythm of invitation, experience, and creative expression will gently shape the flow of the morning. No photography experience is needed, just a love of the outdoors, a sense of curiosity, and a willingness to look and feel more deeply.
Henry will offer simple, mindful prompts for engaging with nature through the lens, not to perfect the shot, but to connect more fully with what you see and feel. Lisa will guide moments of stillness and sensory awareness to ground you in the present.
There will be space to share your images and reflections after each invitation, if you wish.
This isn’t about mastering your settings. It’s about falling in love with the world again, one quiet moment at a time.
