The Surrey Hills Wood Fair is brimming with traditional rural charm celebrating our woodland heritage, wildlife and of course the beauty and versatility of wood.
There is something for everyone with a strong focus on families and practical activities with lots for both adults and children to do from tree climbing and horse and wagon rides to woodland demonstrations and activities to a whole host of wood-crafted stalls and of course fabulous local food and drink to enjoy.
NB – The weather forecast is set to be hot and sunny so please remember hats, sunscreen and plenty of water!

There will be a wide range of free activities which include:-
Mountain biking track
Drive a digger or dumper truck
Family circus show
Local artisans and woodworkers
Visit our woodworker’s zone and see a wide range of unique and interesting stalls for wonderful wood demonstrations, crafts, gifts and artisan products and to get a fascinating insight into everything related to wood and trees.
Watch and learn from wood craftsmen as they demonstrate both age old as well as more modern wood-related craftsmanship.

We have an amazing tree-climbing experience this year for all ages and abilities! When you book your hour-long treetop experience, you will be able to:-
safely climbing to the very tops of the trees
relax in the tree-top canopy
peep into the wildlife in the treetops
lounge on the chesterfield sofa
connect with the natural world and see life from new perspectives!
Tickets can also be booked on the day for £20 per person – however, please be aware that spaces fill up very fast
All those over 6 yrs old are welcome (min age is 6) – including those with mobility issues or disabilities – however children aged 6 – 10 years must climb with a paying adult.
Cancellation policy: Refunds for the tree climbing experience will only be given if cancellation is made before the 1st of September 2023 If you are unable to make your session or you miss the time slot of your session on the day we are not able to offer refunds or alternative slots.

Come along to the “Making Space for Nature Zone” to explore some of the wonderful ways you can get involved with helping protect and enhance the special Landscape of the Surrey Hills.
Make a bamboo Air BnBee
Encourage the birds into your garden by making your own bird feeders
Hear from experts on how they are helping to protect the national landscape
Be an artist for a while and create bird puppets to contribute towards a huge installation
Take a Forest bathing taster session

Surrey Hills Cycle Village
Our Surrey Hills cycle village features a free fun cycle course for all ages to try – we call it our Surrey Hills Funduro! Situated on grass, riders aged 12+ can try a simple course of ramps, beams and see-saws. Have a photo taken on the Hurtwood Trails winners podium!
Adults will be able to experience an e-bike on the funduro course or a longer loop along our showground, courtesy of Peaslakes’s Riders Hub.
The Surrey Hills Natural Landscape will be launching their Cycle Surrey Hills code of conduct supporting mountain biking in the Surrey Hills.

Adult tickets are £12.50 and children under 16 go free
Carers of those with disabilities go free – please come along to the information desk and let them know you are a carer

Travel to the Surrey Hills Wood Fair
ROADWORKS – There are waterworks near the entrance to the Surrey Hills Wood Fair which may lead to queues. Please leave a little longer for your journey
TRAIN Take the train to Guildford station where you can get a bus or taxi to Cranleigh showground BUS You can take Bus no 53 or 63 from Guildford to Cranleigh which takes approx 30 mins
CYCLE The Showground is on the Cranleigh to Ewhurst cycle route
WALK If you are local, how about walking – there’s pavement all the way along.
CAR There is plenty of free parking at the site GU6 7DW. Please follow the directions given by the parking attendees. Disabled parking is located near the exhibitor entrance – please let a steward know if you need disabled parking.
