Discover the Enchanting Treasures of Woodland Delights at The Surrey Hills Wood Fair

The Surrey Hills Wood Fair is brimming with traditional rural charm celebrating our woodland heritage, wildlife and of course the beauty and versatility of wood.

There is something for everyone with a strong focus on families and practical activities with lots for both adults and children to do from tree climbing and horse and wagon rides to woodland demonstrations and activities to a whole host of wood-crafted stalls and of course fabulous local food and drink to enjoy.

We are excited to introduce the new “Woodworker’s Village” at this year’s Surrey Hills Wood Fair, a unique collaboration with the Surrey Sussex Coppice Workers! Step into a world where traditional craftsmanship meets modern skill in the heart of our vibrant fair. This special village will host a dozen expert woodworkers and crafters eager to share their passion for wood – their working artistry and the dedication of these skilled artisans is truly inspiring!

Experience live demonstrations as woodturners, carvers, fence makers, furniture makers and more showcase their incredible talents each offering a glimpse into the fine art of working with wood.

Whether you’re a budding craftsman or simply a lover of artisanal beauty, the Woodworker’s Village promises an inspiring visit for everyone.

Between the activities and demos, enjoy our wide variety of food and drink from the Surrey Hills.  Treat yourself to one of the following Surrey Hills Produced

Cancellation policy: Refunds for the tree climbing experience will only be given if cancellation is made before the 1st of September 2024  If you are unable to make your session or you miss the time slot of your session on the day we are not able to offer refunds or alternative slots.  


Making Space for Nature Zone

Come along to the “Making Space for Nature Zone” to explore some of the wonderful ways you can get involved with helping protect and enhance the special Landscape of the Surrey Hills.

  • Make a bamboo Air BnBee
  • Encourage the birds into your garden by making your own bird feeders
  • Hear from experts on how they are helping to protect the national landscape
  • Be an artist for a while and create bird puppets to contribute towards a huge installation
  • Take a Forest bathing taster session
  • Play the Habitat activity game
  • Kids will enjoy Surrey habitat coloring-in pages
  • Take part in the Woodland tree walk trail quiz and win a Surrey Hills prize
  • Explore, have fun and learn from the “Surreys rare species treasure hunt” – find the clues across the whole Surrey Hills Wood Fair site

Are you a farmer or landowner? – Come along and find out about the new “Farming in Protected Landscapes” fund which supports climate, nature, and access projects across the Surrey Hills area.

Surrey Hills Cycle Village

Our Surrey Hills cycle village features a free fun cycle course for all ages to try – we call it our Surrey Hills Funduro! Situated on grass, riders aged 12+ can try a simple course of ramps, beams and see-saws. Have a photo taken on the Hurtwood Trails winners podium!

Adults will be able to experience an e-bike on the funduro course or a longer loop along our showground, courtesy of Peaslakes’s Riders Hub.

Surrey Hills Raffle

We are running a fantastic FREE raffle for anyone attending the Surrey Hills Wood Fair. The amazing prizes have been kindly donated by the talented local artisans and companies who will be sharing their knowledge and expertise at the Wood Fair. EARLY BIRD TICKETS – adults are £12.50 if booked before Midday on Friday 6th September
Adult tickets are £15.00 and children under 16 go free
Carers of those with disabilities go free – please come along to the information desk and let them know you are a carer
E TICKETS:  An automatic email confirmation of your booking will be forwarded within a few minutes of making your booking. Please print and bring a copy with you. If you do not receive your email confirmation please check your junk or clutter folders. Tickets are non-refundable. Travel to the Surrey Hills Wood Fair

TRAIN Take the train to Guildford station where you can get a bus or taxi to Cranleigh showground BUS You can take Bus no 53 or 63 from Guildford to Cranleigh which takes approx 30 mins

CYCLE The Showground is on the Cranleigh to Ewhurst cycle route
WALK If you are local, how about walking – there’s pavement all the way along.
CAR There is plenty of free parking at the site GU6 7DW.  Please follow the directions given by the parking attendees.  Disabled parking is located near the exhibitor entrance – please let a steward know if you need disabled parking.
