The Surrey Hills Wood Fair is brimming with traditional rural charm celebrating our woodland heritage, wildlife and of course the beauty and versatility of wood.

Saturday – 10.00 – 17.00

Sunday 10.00 – 16.00

Tickets are valid for Saturday or Sunday
PLUS  this year get 2 for the price of 1  – with so much to see and do you can now come for BOTH days with just the one ticket!
 
There is something for everyone with a strong focus on families and practical activities with lots for both adults and children to do from tree climbing and horse and wagon rides to woodland demonstrations and activities to a whole host of wood-crafted stalls and of course fabulous local food and drink to enjoy.

NEW “WOOD WORKERS” VILLAGE

We are excited to introduce the new “Woodworker’s Village” at this year’s Surrey Hills Wood Fair, a unique collaboration with the Surrey Sussex Coppice Workers! Step into a world where traditional craftsmanship meets modern skill in the heart of our vibrant fair. This special village will host a dozen expert woodworkers and crafters eager to share their passion for wood – their working artistry and the dedication of these skilled artisans is truly inspiring!

Experience live demonstrations as woodturners, carvers, fence makers, furniture makers and more showcase their incredible talents each offering a glimpse into the fine art of working with wood.

Whether you’re a budding craftsman or simply a lover of artisanal beauty, the Woodworker’s Village promises an inspiring visit for everyone.

NEW “MEDIEVAL ENACTMENT” VILLAGE

We are delighted to welcome the Medieval Siege Society who will be bringing alive some of Surrey’s oldest heritage and woodland traditions with a live-action Medieval encampment with activities for you to join in with, as well as watch including, a display of medieval wood work, Medieval Games, sword fighting and demonstrating medieval Cooking 

NEW “DEMONSTRATIONS AND DISPLAYS ARENA”

Watch a wide range of demonstrations and entertainment including

  • The Incredible Adams Axe men – a team of athletes who love nothing more than entertaining a crowd with their incredible axe-chopping skills,
  • Medieval sword fighting,
  • One-wheel skateboarding display
  • Shire Horse log pulling

and a range of music and entertainment

Tree Climbing

We have an amazing tree-climbing experience this year for all ages :-

  • safely climbing to the very tops of the trees
  • relax in the tree-top canopy
  • peep into the wildlife in the treetops
  • connect with the natural world and see life from new perspectives!

Tickets can also be booked on the day for £12 per person – however, please be aware that spaces fill up very fast
 
 
 
Cancellation policy: Refunds for the tree climbing will only be given if cancellation is made before the 1st of September 2024  If you are unable to make your session or you miss the time slot of your session on the day we are not able to offer refunds or alternative slots.

Are you a farmer or landowner? – Come along and find out about the new “Farming in Protected Landscapes” fund which supports climate, nature, and access projects across the Surrey Hills area.

Adult tickets are £15.00 and children under 16 go free
 
Dogs welcome! – Friendly dogs on leads are most welcome
 
Carers of those with disabilities go free – please come along to the information desk and let them know you are a carer

Travel to the Surrey Hills Wood Fair

TRAIN Take the train to Guildford station where you can get a bus or taxi to Cranleigh showground BUS You can take Bus no 53 or 63 from Guildford to Cranleigh which takes approx 30 mins

CYCLE The Showground is on the Cranleigh to Ewhurst cycle route
WALK If you are local, how about walking – there’s pavement all the way along.
CAR There is plenty of free parking at the site GU6 7DW.  Please follow the directions given by the parking attendees.  Disabled parking is located near the exhibitor entrance – please let a steward know if you need disabled parking.
