Escape the desk and take on the iconic Surrey Three Peaks Challenge, a 25km guided hike through beautiful countryside, all while fundraising for nature recovery.

Starting at Ryka’s cafe at Box Hill and finishing in Holmbury St. Mary’s village, this rewarding one-day challenge takes you across some of Surrey’s most beautiful and varied landscapes. You’ll be fully supported by expert hiking guides from Back on Track, making it a great challenge for those looking to push themselves and do something positive for nature.

This event is for Surrey businesses, corporate teams, work colleagues, friend groups and solo adventurers, who wish to fundraise for Surrey Wildlife Trust; A chance to join colleagues and friends to make a real difference. Sign up, lace up, and hike for nature in Surrey.

Surrey Three Peaks Challenge and Route Highlights

16-mile (approx 25km) linear hiking route (start and end is a different location)
Box Hill – opening climb to 224m with sweeping views across the Mole Valley
Leith Hill – the highest point of the challenge at 294m
Holmbury Hill – 261m third summit crowned by a historic Iron Age fort
The route links these three peaks via the North Downs Way and Greensand Way, passing vineyards, villages, rolling countryside and ancient woodland before finishing in Holmbury St Mary

Meeting point: Rykas Cafe, Boxhill, Old London Rd, Dorking RH5 6BY, What3words: feared.stray.descended
Start time: Groups will set off at staggered start times, from 8.45am onwards (Arrive at Ryka’s from 8.30am)
Teams: if you want to join as a team – be sure to sign up for the same starting time
Duration: 7-8h approx
Cost: £50pp Plus Fundraising (Any amount appreciated with a £250pp soft target)

Transport Option 1:
Park or Arrange a drop off at Rykas Cafe, Boxhill and pick up from Holmbury St. Mary’s (near the Royal Oaks Pub). You can also park in Old London Road (free).

Transport Option 2:
Take the train to Boxhill/Westhumble station or Dorking Station (for Dorking station add a 25min walk to Rykas Cafe). Arrange only the pick up from Holmbury St. Mary’s

Transport Option 3:
Park or Arrange a drop off at Rykas Cafe, Boxhill and organise/take the Shuttle bus (to be confirmed/limited availability) back to Box Hill after the hike. You can also park in Old London Road (free).

*Please note: we may have to change your start time depending on applicants and capacities.

Note: This is a long and challenging walk with several steep climbs, and we’ll aim for a steady pace to complete the distance within the estimated time. Regular stops are included, and you’ll be supported by two hiking guides throughout. If you’re unsure whether this pace or challenge is right for you, please consider joining some of Back on Track walks or have a chat with Simone beforehand.

Cancellation Policy Back on Track and Surrey Wildlife Trust
Hikes will be fully refunded if cancellation on the Teamup system is made 30 or more days before the event starts. Cancellations less than 30 days before the event starts are considered late cancellations and can no longer be refunded or used as account credit. You can however transfer your place to someone else if you let Simone know via simone@backontrack.live. No-shows without cancellations cannot be refunded or rebooked.

Please note: Any amounts fundraised or donated via the JustGiving page for Surrey Wildlife Trust are non-refundable, as these donations are processed directly by JustGiving and the charity.
