Women’s Wellbeing Walk – 5km Tree discovery walk Abinger Roughs
26 September 2025 @ 11:00 am – 1:30 pm
Join us for this Women’s Wellness Walk themed ‘Tree journeys’. A 4mile/6km loop around magical Abinger Roughs with coffee and a chat at the end.

These walks are tailored to women seeking a supportive environment to unwind, reflect, and prioritize their well-being. Whilst the walks are themed each month, there is no obligation to join the conversation. It’s simply an opportunity to get expert knowledge and share support with each other.
You’ll find our Women’s Walks are around 3-5 miles and a more relaxed walking pace and will always visit a cafe or place of refreshment. These walks will be co-hosted by amazing women who are experts in their field of Womens wellbeing and nature.
On this walk we explore the stunning Abinger Roughs, owned by National Trust. It is dotted with ancient trees and secret clearings, some unique and tangled woodlands and with tunnelled paths to walk amongst knarly trees, and finally the mystery of the Witches Broom tree. We’ll walk through Piney Copse, a woodland once owned by author E.M. Forster. We will visit the veterans and ancient trees from the ‘Woodland Trust Ancient Tree inventory’ , follow in the footsteps of Charles Darwin and enjoy a hot (or cold) drink in an gorgeous outdoor cafe.
Optional: After the walk we will drive 3min to Gomshall New Amble Cafe. Parking by the cafe is free.
Meet your host and outdoor expert: Simone Dill
Simone is a PT, fitness instructor and hiking guide who also works closely with women every day to help them feel confident with who they are, build strength and healthier habits, all with the support of women. Guided by nature, she promotes seasonal living, and promotes connecting with nature as one of our deepest need to live a fulfilled life. As a hiking guide she loves taking Women onto new trails and helps them to gain confidence outdoors.
Meet your Co-host: Jen Slade
Jen has a huge passion for trees and nature. Having trained with National Trust in Kent, and now working in Surrey for Forestry England, she works hands-on, maintaining forests for recreational and ecological benefits. Her curiosity about the natural world, and love of being able to recognise plants and wildlife in the field is what fuels her passion and drives her to understand their wider significance. She loves sharing her knowledge and aims to inspire people to feel the same curiosity about nature that she does.
