Culvert Restoration for Footpath Improvements Oxenford Farm
Oxenford Farm applied for a grant of £7,048 to replace a partially collapsed culvert on a tributary of the River Wey and to resurface 50 meters of footpath.
The damaged culvert had significantly reduced water flow, leading to flooding in the surrounding area and severe damage to the footpath above.
The culvert replacement has restored proper water flow, reduced the risk of flooding, and ensured the public can safely use the footpath without disrupting farming operations. Improved drainage has also allowed the farmer to reclaim previously unusable, waterlogged areas of land. With the work now complete, the farmer is well-positioned to maintain both the culvert and footpath long-term, ensuring ongoing accessibility and productive land use.
