Hand tools and Posters Banstead Common Conservators
A grant of £2,393.48 was given to Banstead Common Conservators to purchase a range of hand tools, to be used by their ever-growing volunteer groups. The aim is to better connect local groups with their local green spaces, by coordinating regular practical conservation working groups at varying sites.
The grant also included the deign and printing of three different poster designs to raise awareness of three indicator species that were highlighted to be the most suspectable to disturbance. The Three designs were:
- Ground nesting birds
- Wildfowl and bird nesting season
- Riding/ user regulations.
This funding was approved as this project raises awareness for volunteer groups and the local public about the local green spaces and their value as habitats to wildlife.
Lucy from Banstead Common Conservators said:
“I just want to say a massive thank you to FiPL for the funding you have provided to Banstead Commons Conservators. All the projects that have been funded are making a huge difference not just to Banstead Commons and their wildlife but also visitor accessibility and enjoyment of the Commons. We had few to no enquiries from our old website and now we must be receiving about 5 a week – which is amazing!”
