Hedgerow connectivity Woolgars Farm

Woolgars Farm applied forย ยฃ9,991.95ย funding to plant a new hedgerow alongside a well-used byway.ย Following an ADAS water management report, itย wasย identifiedย that the byway was acting as a conduit for surface water runoff, directing large volumes of water onto the road below. The report recommended the establishment of a hedgerow to help intercept and slow this runoff, improving water management and reducing erosion.ย

In addition to its environmental benefits, the hedge will provide improved security for the farm. The farm has experienced a high number of poaching incidents, with unauthorised access occurring from the byway into adjacent fields. The new hedge, together with an associated ditch, will create a clear physical boundary, deterring access onto the land while still respecting the public right of way.ย
