Milk vending machine and public engagement at Pierrepont Farm
The tenant farmer at Pierrepont Farm secured £18,626.27 to develop a clean room for milk pasteurisation and the production of dairy products, which are now available for purchase via an on-site vending machine.
The funding also supported the creation of an accessible seating area, equipped with interpretation boards and handwashing facilities for public use.
The pasteurisation room was designed with a viewing gallery, giving visitors the chance to watch the robotic dairy in action as cows are milked and milk is pasteurised. This project offers a unique opportunity to engage and educate the public about regenerative farming practices while providing nutritious, locally produced dairy products directly from the farm gate and nearby shops.
