Pond restoration Richard Bayley

Pond restoration Richard Bayley

Richard Bayley applied for ยฃ5,186.00 to restore two ponds located alongside a popular public right of way (RoW) that had become silted up and overgrown. The project included the removal of invasive Iris, an ornamental grass that had begun to dominate the ponds and threaten their ecological balance.

Surrounding trees were also selectively pruned, with unstable limbs removed to prevent them from breaking off and falling into the watercourse.

As a result of the restoration work, the ponds can now hold more water, making them more attractive to wildlife and significantly enhancing biodiversity in the area. To complete the project, two picnic benches were installed around the ponds, providing visitors with a place to stop, relax, and enjoy the natural surroundings.
