Water infrastructure to aid grazing Hampton Estate
The Hamton Estate have been successfully grazing their Sussex cattle on the SSSI Puttenham common with No Fence collars for 2 years now. They applied for ยฃ7,260.00 toย purchaseย a 10,000l water bowser with toughs to enable a larger number of cattle to graze the SSSI and to maximise their access to fresh water.ย ย
The reintroduction of grazing to Puttenham Common since 2023 has been incredibly successful in terms of restoring heathland habitats and increasing levels of biodiversity.ย The bowser willย allow for a weekโs supply of fresh water reducing the need for vehicle movements on this precious habitat.ย
