Boxhill and Westhumble Railway Station

Along the Mole Gap Trail…

A Gothic-style railway station built in 1867

You may wish to make a small diversion from the trail to view Box Hill and Westhumble Railway Station. You can do so by turning left down Westhumble Street. This lovely station in a picturesque setting was designed by the eminent Victorian architect Charles Henry Driver in the Gothic style. Since it was opened in 1867 it was a popular halt for many thousands of visitors who came down from London to enjoy the beautiful countryside of the Surrey Hills. Return to the Chapel and continue along the marked route.
