Meet Maria Tumolo, a Trinidad-born Surrey based stay at home mum, wife, blogger and aspiring published children’s book writer. Maria created The Tiger Tales, a parenting and lifestyle website in 2011 where she shares her experiences of expat parenting, mixed heritage family life, food, beauty and more.
“Coming to the Surrey Hills was a way for me to look after my kids mental health during the COVID pandemic, to let the kids be free, to let them re-wild. Coming to the woodlands was an opportunity to feel released, immediately we all feel relaxed. Even getting lost allows you to take your own path and do things together, when you are vulnerable and have to work together to get back on the right path is the ultimate team work experience! As a young woman I hiked a lot and I’ve really missed it, coming into the Surrey Hills has made me remember my youth and lifts my mood. Breathing in the clean fresh air and being in the moment just allows you to feel free and enjoy life.”
