Brockham

Deriving its name from ‘Brook Ham’, the village of Brockham, between Dorking and Reigate, was originally just a hamlet on the River Mole. Today it is a thriving and much-loved village, home to two pubs, a village store, local café, a picturesque 19^th century church and an expansive village green which plays host to a Victorian Fair each summer.

The waterway remains a feature of the village, with a charming footbridge providing entry to the village green, framed by views of Box Hill in the distance. Plentiful character cottages, pretty gardens and the historic village pump on the green ensure that the village remains one of the most photographed in the local area. It is not hard to see why Brockham was awarded Surrey Village of the Year in 2011.

A highlight of the annual calendar is the famous Brockham Bonfire, held on the weekend closest to 5^th November each year, and said to be one of the biggest bonfire celebrations in the UK.

There are ample opportunities to explore around the village and locally on walking trails, taking in fields, farms, landmarks and watering holes nearby.
