OFSTED Statutory Framework for Early Years Foundation Stage requires that at least one person with a valid paediatric first aid certificate must always be on the premises and available when children are present and must accompany children on outings.

Surrey First Aid Training is the leading provider of Paediatric First Aid in the Southeast. We have delivered this course for over 22 years. We hold our Blended Learning Paediatric First Aid and Forest School Leader courses in Guildford and Bramley. Our courses are delivered in small informal groups of child carers and taught by Paediatric First Aid experts. We will ensure the course is relevant, interesting, and most importantly practical, with casualty simulation and interactive workshops. We promise parking is always free and refreshments provided.

The course covers the content recommended by OFSTED and meets the requirements of the Outdoor Leaders in EYFS Association.

Our 16 Hour Combined Outdoor Forest School First Aid with Paediatric  course ensures that all the areas listed below are fully covered and the content is delivered within the outdoor forest school environment and will be tailored to scenarios which take place in a Forest School setting.

Criteria for effective PFA training:

1. Training is designed for workers caring for young children in the absence of their parents and is appropriate to the age of the children being cared for.

2. Following continued assessment of competence throughout the 2-days of training leads to the award of a certificate.

3. The certificate must be renewed every three years.

4. Adequate resuscitation and other equipment including baby and junior models must be provided so that all trainees are able to practice and demonstrate techniques.
