The walk commences with a brisk walk up onto Reigate Hill offering the first of many stunning views of the Surrey Hills Natural Landscape.
We’ll then follow the ridge of the North Downs as it wends its way through a rich landscape of natural and man made features before eventually reaching the famous beauty spot of Box Hill.

Here we will have a much needed refreshment stop before descending the relatively steep steps down to cross the River Mole at the equally famous Stepping Stones. (There is a foot bridge for those who don’t fancy giving the stones a go). Then it is a short walk into Dorking where we finish the walk at the station. You are welcome to get the train back to the start at Reigate or perhaps first spend a bit of time exploring the charming town centre which is about a 10 minute walk from the station.

Generally the walk is quite easy but there is both a steep ascent and descent.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but due to livestock on some parts of this walk they will need to be on a lead at times.

The North Downs Way National Trail is 153 mile trail through coast and countryside, with easy access from London. Walk or cycle across stunning chalk escarpments, pass through the Surrey Hills and Kent Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and over wooded hills and magnificent valleys.

Duration: Approx 4 hours including a refreshment stop on Box Hil
