Rustic Chestnut Gate Course

In this two-day training course you will create a Rustic Chestnut Gate from Sweet Chestnut coppiced on-site. We will recommend a design to work to or you can bring one of your own.

Day One

> Design and measurements
> Cleaving of Chestnut poles using a Froe, small Beadle and Cleaving Break
> Peeling of chestnut poles

Day Two

> Shaping, cleaving, and thinning of selected wood
> Assemble your gate
> Final finish depending on the selected design
> Advisories on how to fit and care for your Rustic Gate
