Adventure hike – 18km New Forest and Tall Trees Trail

Join us for this all-day adventure hike and explore the stunning heath views, tall trees and encounters with wild ponies at the New Forest!
Our 11 mile circular trail starts in the charming village of Brockenhurst nestled in the heart of the New Forest. The trail winds through the picturesque countryside and lush forests of the New Forest National Park. You’ll be captivated by the majestic redwoods and firs along the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, planted in the late 1850s for Rhinefield House.
Next, we’ll immerse ourselves in the serene beauty of the Blackwater Arboretum, home to an impressive array of tree species from around the world. Here, you can engage all your senses in nature’s embrace: touch the textured bark, breathe in the fragrant needles, and look up at the green canopies.
Along the trails, we will pause several times to explore some natural cues used for navigation and Liz will share her survival expertise and might engage us in some invaluable survival knacks.
We’ll finish our hike with an (optional) visit to the local pub.
We aim to travel to and from Brockenhurst by train, as roads get busy.

Liz is a new Back on Track hiking guide. She is currently based in London. She will not just lead stunning walks accessible from London, she will also share her knowledge of natural navigation and survival tips with you.
She has worked in the Swiss Alps, hiked and taught English overseas in South Korea as well as leading groups in the mountains in Thailand. As a PT she loves to be active, and she qualified in South Africa as a hiking guide during her 8 year stay there. She has led many adventure groups including wild camping trips. We are so excited to have Liz onboard.
Difficulty: Moderately challenging, mostly gravel paths.
Duration: Approx 6-7h hours, with several stops for survival and nature cues
Bring: Comfortable and weatherproof clothing, boots/walking shoes, drink, food for all day, snacks, money for pub
